TEHRAN, Sep. 03 (MNA) – Head of South Pars Gas Field's 2nd Refinery said Phases 2 & 3 of the giant gas field said have been producing products in the current year with maximum capacity.

In the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 21), Phases 4 & 5 of South Pars Gas Company (SPGC) yielded 8,600 million cubic meters of sweet gas, said Mahdi Gerami Shirazi, Director of the second refinery at SPGC.

SPGC’s second refinery, which is currently undergoing a thorough overhaul, produced approximately 10.2 thousand barrels of gas condensate in the five-month period, recalled the official.

He went on to say that, in the meantime, about 53,000 tons of sulfur were also recovered from the refinery.

Products of the second refinery at the South Pars Gas Company (SPGC), in addition to supplying domestic needs in local petrochemical industries, are also deployed to international markets.

The second refinery came on stream 20 years ago as the first of 14 planned processing facilities for Iran's mega South Pars project.

South Pars Gas Company engages in the installation of phases, such as offshore production platforms, undersea pipelines, and onshore gas refinery installations. It involves in the production and exploration of gas. The phases of the South Pars Field produces sour gas, refined gas, gas condensate, and sulfur.
