"The need for changes in the Foreign Ministry has been proposed by Dr. Zarif in the Council of Deputy Ministers six months ago, and today we have a more serious look at economic diplomacy," Rahimpour said on Monday.
Stating that each ministry may make changes to its structure based on its needs, including the Foreign Ministry, Rahimpour noted that due to the structural changes that have been made at the Ministry, the three regional deputies will be removed, and the deputy minister for political affairs will replace the three positions.
He stressed that the Ministry will also establish a new economic deputy office, based on the currents needs, adding “previously we were more involved in political, security and international affairs due to the special situation inside the country and in the region, but now the attention of the Ministry has been switched more seriously to the economic diplomacy."
Pointing out the effects of JCPOA on the country's economy and paving the way for its development, Rahimpour said based on these changes, our embassies abroad will pay more attention to economic issues and, in this regard, will try to exploit the potential available for more economic developments in the country.
