TEHRAN, Aug. 24 (MNA) – Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari discussed expansion of ties with his Indonesian counterpart in Bali.

Rear Admiral Sayyari held meeting with Indonesia Navy Commander Ade Supandi on Thursday on the sidelines of the 3rd International Maritime Security Symposium, calling for expansion of ties in educational, technical and operational fields.

Sayyari expressed hope that maritime conferences lead to further cooperation between countries in the region and fortify security at seas.

He also urged expansion of ties on organizing joint drills and fighting maritime terrorism and invited Mr. Supandi to attend the 6th IONS summit due on 2018 in Tehran.

Ade Supandi, for his part, deemed Iran’s participation in IMSS an indicator of Islamic Republic’s will for boosting ties with Indonesian Navy, hoping that the conference provides a basis for further cooperation between all attending countries.

Noting that Iran has made great achievements in modern technologies during last years, Supandi called for technical cooperation as a key field and proposed assigning special aids to accelerate the implementation process.
He also expressed hope to take part in IONS 2018 at head of a high-ranking delegation.
