TEHRAN, Aug. 17 (MNA) – Head of the Iranian Staff of Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri held talks with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Turkish Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli on Wednesday evening in Ankara.

Bagheri and Turkish officils have discussed a range of regional issues including a referendum decision by the Iraqi Kurdistan.

No further details of the meeting have been given.

Heading a high-ranking military-political delegation at the invitation of head of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces Hulusi Akar, Baqeri arrived in Turkey on Tuesday morning for a three-day visit, the first of its kind since the Iranian Revolution in 1979.

Upon arrival, bagheri told reporters that he will confer with Turkish authorities on the issue of fight against terrorism, regional developments, Tehran-Ankara defensive ties, and border cooperation will be discussed during the meetings.
