TEHRAN, Aug. 06 (MNA) – Young Iranian Paralympian athletes have so far collected 13 medals, including seven golds, at 2017 World Para Athletics Junior Championships in Switzerland.

Iran’s seventh gold trophy was claimed by Hajar Safarzadeh in 200m in the T12 class after she clocked 28.63 seconds. Representatives from Spain and Italy stood in second and third positions.

Accordingly, Iranian athletes have so far picked seven gold, four silver and three bronze medals to increase the country’s medal tally at the sportive extravaganza to a total of 13.

The 2017 World Para Athletics Junior Championships started in Nottwil, Switzerland, on August 3 and will finish on August 6.

A total of 275 Paralympian athletes from 41 countries, including Brazil, Colombia, the Czech Republic, Germany, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico and Poland, have taken part in the international multi-sport event.
