Making remarks in a meeting with Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut on Monday, Amir-Abdollahian felicitated the concurrency of Arsal liberation against the Takfiri terrorism with anniversary of Lebanon's victory in the 33-day resistance against the Zionist regime's aggression in 2006.
“Lebanon has taken major steps in fighting the Zionist regime and Takfiri terrorism and was successful in defending its independence and territorial integrity,” he noted.
Amir-Abdollahian praised the role of Berri and other Lebanese leaders in completing the political process and agreeing on the election law, calling it a sign of correct understanding and insight of the Lebanese officials.
He underlined that Iran will continue its effective support for Lebanon’s Resistance in the fight against Zionist regime’s aggressions and terrorism.
Pointing to US unconstructive and interventionist role in the region, Amir-Abdollahian said the White House only cares about the security of Tel Aviv and its political, cultural, and economic exploitation.
Referring to the developments in Syria, Lebanon, Libya and Yemen, Amir-Abdollahian urged the need for maintaining territorial integrity and national unity of the countries of the region and called the division of the region a dangerous move.
Nabih Berri, for his part, expressed gratitude to the Islamic Republic’s efforts and aids and said the situation in the region remains sensitive, and after the recent victories against terrorism, we must be cautious about plots of the enemies of the Islamic world and, in the shadow of Islamic unity, we should disappoint the Zionists and terrorists.
Berri pointed to the ongoing events in al-Aqsa Mosque and Israel’s aggression and violence against Palestinian people, emphasizing the importance of resistance against Tel Aviv.
Nabih Berri also explained his views on some regional and international developments and called for continued parliamentary and political consultations between the two countries.
