The tournament hosted by the British capital has now witnessed eight days of neck-on-neck competitions among athletes from all across the globe who strive to snatch trophies.
Amid the prestigious sportive event, Iran’s 20-strong squad has succeeded in collecting a total of 20 colorful medal so far.
The last two medals were collected by two para athletes in Men’s shot put F53 event competed on Saturday morning.
Accordingly, Alireza Mokhtari won the title with a throw of eight meters and 35 centimeters which also improved record of Asia. His compatriot Asadollah Azimi also settled for bronze medal with 7.93 meters.
Iran’s tally of medals has therefore climbed to a total of 14 including two gold, seven silver and five bronze trophies.
The 2017 World Para Athletics Championships is a track and field meet for athletes with disabilities, governed by the International Paralympic Committee, being held at Olympic Stadium in London from 14 to 23 July 2017.
