WASHINGTON, Jul. 22 (MNA) – US President Donald Trump will host Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri for talks on terrorism, refugees and other issues of mutual concern, according to the White House.

US President Donald Trump will host Lebanon's Prime Minister Saad Hariri for talks on terrorism, refugees and other issues of mutual concern, the White House said in a statement on Friday.

"Trump will host Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the White House on July 25. The two leaders will discuss issues of mutual concern, including the fight against terrorism, the economy, and refugees," the White House said.

The White House said the meeting would serve as an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and would encourage other international and regional partners to support Lebanon as it faces a wide range of challenges.

Lebanon has been battling terrorist militants from Jabhat Fatah al-Sham (formerly known as the Nusra Front) holed up on its eastern border with Syria.

The Mediterranean country of 4 million people has also borne the brunt of the Syrian refugee crisis, with over 1 million displaced Syrians flooding into Lebanon since the start of the war in 2011.
