TEHRAN, Jul. 18 (MNA) – The first session of Iran-Germany Science Day will take place at University of Science and Technology in Tehran in October, Deputy science minister said Tuesday.

Hossein Salar Amoli told Mehr News correspondent that the first session of Iran-Germany ‘Science Day’ will be hosted by Tehran at the University of Science and Technology for two days sometime in October. A group of outstanding professors and officials from German scientific institutions will take part in the session.

A number of Iranian officials will also participate in the meeting to get a closer understanding of the two countries’ scientific communities.

The initiative for organizing the session was proposed by the German side during the visit of a German delegation to Iran back in October. Germany will in turn host Iran’s Science Day in the European country.

Salar Amoli went to note the remarkable increase in the visits of foreign university deans to Iran, adding “in 2013, only nine university rectors visited Iran. The number increased to 105 in 2016, and we predict that the visits will reach 205 by 2021.”

According to him, 2086 foreign researchers and university rectors made a visit to Iran in 2016.
