Kamari noted that officials of 25 Iranian companies active in the field of nano are slated to take part in a conference to be held on August 29th in Jakarta where they will attend joint meetings with Indonesian counterparts.
The official stated that the conference and joint sessions are scheduled to be held as a follow-up to the earlier visit to the South East Asian country made by Secretary-General of the Iran Nanotechnology Initiative Council (INIC) Saeed Sarkar and his accompanying delegation. The two sides agreed to transfer Iran’s experiences in nanotechnology to Indonesia.
“The participating firms from Iran are active in textile, pharmaceuticals, health, construction, agriculture and automotive arenas and, in addition to conducting negotiations with Indonesian companies, will showcase their latest achievements in production of nano products at an exhibition,” he continued.
Kamari underlined that Iran was an outstanding country in the field of nanotechnology; “we are ready to export nano products and transfer knowhow to and launch scientific cooperation with Jakarta,” emphasized the official.
Talks on development of nano collaborations between Tehran and Jakarta follow the last year’s agreement between Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo, Iran's commercial attaché recalled.
Nano sector in Iran, despite all economic difficulties, has made advancements by over 120 per cent as sales volume of nano products has increased from five million dollars to more than 95 million dollars over the past four years. Iran ranks sixth in the world as regards scientific production in the field of nanotechnology.
