TEHRAN, Jul. 01 (MNA) – The Head of Iran’s Academy of Persian Language and Literature Gholamali Haddad Adel in two separate messages, congratulated Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari and Head of National Iraqi Alliance Ammar al-Hakim on Mosul liberation.

"Congratulations on the release of Mosul from the supremacy of terrorism to you and the Iraqi people and government, and wish for Iraq a future full of peace and prosperity," reads the message of Haddad Adel to Ibrahim al-Jaafari and Ammar al-Hakim.

Iraqi forces captured on Thursday the wrecked historic mosque of Mosul in which ISIL terrorist group proclaimed its self-styled 'caliphate' three years ago.

Taking the Grand al-Nuri Mosque gives a symbolic victory to the Iraqi forces who have been battling for more than eight months to capture Mosul, the northern city that served as ISIL de-facto capital in Iraq.
