TEHRAN, Jun. 25 (MNA) – A POGC official said the first butane consignment produced at Phases 17 and 18 of South Pars field will be shipped to global markets in coming days.

Mohammadreza Chelipa, Project Director of Phases 17 and 18 at Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), pointed to completion of value chain in the two South Pars phases saying “presently, 2,600 tons of Butane and Propane are being recovered and stored per day from the two phases thanks to operation of storage tanks.”

He noted that the first LNG cargo of Phases 17 and 18 will also be loaded and exported in the present month reiterating that all products of the refinery will be put in cycle of profitability.

Chelipa said accumulative gas condensate output at the two Iranian phases have has reached 19.5 million barrels explaining “aside from bringing high export profitability, the complex has also supplied a part of the domestic and foreign demands.”

“So far, a total of 21 billion cubic meters of methane, 627 thousand tons of ethane and 900 tons of sulfur have been recovered from Phases 17 and 18,” stated the official.

“On average in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 21), 2,300 tons of ethane per day have been produced and transferred to petrochemical complexes,” he continued.

Chelipa underscored that gas flaring has been reduced to a minimum in the two phases owing to implementation of environmental units and operation of Boil-off Gas compressors.
