Iran's Airtour Airlines has signed an MoU for the purchase of 45 Airbus A320neo aircraft in a deal unveiled at the Paris Airshow, PR director of Iran Airtour said on Thursday.
Marzieh Jafarzadeh noted the 18 months of extensive negotiations with Airbus managers for signing the memorandum of understanding, adding “the MoU consists of the purchase of 45 Airbus A320neo aircraft including 318, 319, 320 and 321 with various capacities from 100 to 240 seats.”
According to her, the MoU is worth 4.5 billion euros signed at the Paris Airshow in the presence of Airbus CEO Fabrice Brégier, Senior Vice President of Contracts at Airbus, Christophe Mourey, as well as Iran Airtour CEO Reza Mousavi and board director Majid Shekari.
The Airtour Airlines deal follows a similar one with another privately owned Iranian airline Zagros that was also announced at the Paris Airshow. According to a statement by Airbus, Zagros has signed an MoU on Thursday to buy 28 new Airbus planes, comprising 20 A320neo jets and eight A330neo aircraft.
Airbus said the MoUs were contingent upon all necessary approvals and in full compliance with the Iran nuclear deal.
