The Iranian outfit subdued Uzbekistan 2-0 to receive tickets to 2018 World Cup in Russia. National footballers have previously appeared in in 1978 Argentina, 1998 France, 2006 Germany, and 2014 Brazil world cups.
Iran was the first team from Asia to advance to 2018 event while two more qualifying debuts are still remaining.
