Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi made the remarks at a meeting with Sec. Gen. of Syrian Prime Ministry Mohammad al-Ammouri on Monday in Tehran.
Iran’s Boroujerdi, while emphasizing on significance of regional peace and stability, said “government and Parliament of Iran will do whatever it takes to settle peace and security and to eliminate terrorist groups inside the region.”
He voiced satisfaction towards recent victories of the Syrian army in the battle against terrorists asserting “resistance and perseverance of the Syrian nation and army were the key to triumph over terrorist groups.”
The official stressed on support of Islamic Republic of Iran for people and government of Syria in the recent crisis adding “Iran will provide assistance in rebuilding Syria by sharing earlier experiences in reconstruction carried out after the Imposed War against Iraq.”
The senior Iranian MP concluded his remarks by calling for development of economic and commercial relations between businessmen and private sectors of the two countries.
Later at the meeting, al-Ammouri of Syria appreciated supports of the Islamic Republic of Iran saying “Iran has taken constructive steps in settling peace and security as well as in combatting terrorist groups.”
The visiting official underlined that Iran and Syria have enjoyed solid ties throughout history.
He said joint economic investments and presence of Iranian firms in Syria’s reconstruction will lead to deeper bilateral relations.
Mohammad al-Ammouri also conveyed condolences on martyrdom of a number of Iranian nationals in the recent terrorist attacks in Tehran.
