TEHRAN, Jun. 12 (MNA) – The southwestern Iranian city of Bushehr will soon perform direct flights to and from the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.

Nasser Amirzadeh, the head of Bushehr office of Iran's Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), made the announcement saying “constructive measures have been taken to expand tourism industry in Bushehr Province one being establishment of direct flights to foreign destinations.”

“Direct air trips between Bushehr and Tbilisi will kick off as of June 28 with efforts of the private sector and airport authorities,” he continued.

He invited people living in Bushehr and nearby provinces to take advantage of the upcoming opportunity.

Amirzadeh said the project will increase the number of arriving tourists from Central Asian in addition to slashing travel costs for Iranians eager to go abroad.

At the end of his remarks, the official expressed hope that further flight routes to foreign destinations will become activated.
