AZADSHAHR, May 09 (MNA) – Executive Assistant of Constructional Affairs of Golestan province Reza Morrowati said the rescue operations and debris removal are still underway in Zemestanyurt mine, while so far 42 dead bodies have been taken out from under the debris.

Speaking among the reporters on Tuesday morning, Morrowati said rescuers found way on early hour of Tuesday, to workshop 2 through an air access of tunnel 1 and took out 7 other dead bodies from the place. “The bodies were delivered to the judiciary officials to perform identification processes Tuesday at dawn,” he added.

After the incident, a number of miners spontaneously raided to the workshops to help their colleagues, Morrowati noted, adding the probability of finding them alive is very low and based on what the miners say there are still one or two others under the rubble.

Zemestanyurt mine blast occurred in about 14km outside the town of Azadshahr, Golestan province, on Wednesday May 3.
