AZADSHAHR, May 04 (MNA) – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi and Foreign Minister Dr. Javad Zarif expressed deep regret over the death of dozens of hardworking miners in a coal mine explosion in Azadshahr of Golestan province.

Following the explosion in Zemestanyurt mine in north of Iran on Wednesday which led to the loss of at least 35 miners and injury of scores of others, Ghasemi extended his condolences and sympathy to the families of the workers and the people of Golestan province.

Meantime, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif also cabled a message on Thursday condoling with the families of the victims and all Iranian people over the tragic incident.

At least 35 miners have lost their lives and scores of others been injured in a coal mine explosion in the northeastern Iranian province of Golestan.

The blast occurred in the Zemestanyurt mine, about 14km outside the town of Azadshahr.
