Touching upon the issue of hunger strike of Palestinian prisoners, Palestine Intifada Conference Secretary General Amir-Abdollahian condemned the repeated human rights violations in prisons of Israeli regime, adding the protest is a public, non-partisan movement, indicating the unity and solidarity of Palestinians against the Zionists.
Amir-Abdollahian, who is also the Iranian Parliament's General Director for International Affairs, pointed to the cruel ruling of illegitimate Zionist regime’s Supreme Court over force-feeding the Palestinian prisoners, saying “the move reflects the concerns of Zionists of the flare of a new intifada in the occupied territories.”
Due to the precarious position of Israeli regime in the international community, Israeli officials fear the protests would led to the condemnation of the regime in the international community, he noted, adding “they try to resort to various anti-human rights instruments, to break the hunger strike of Palestinians in prison.”
He underlined that the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the Palestinian people and Resistance and condemns once again the Israeli oppressive measures and violations of the basic rights of Palestinians.
Amir-Abdollahian urged the international community, liberalists and international human rights organizations to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the release of those on hunger strike in the prisons.
Hundreds of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails have gone on hunger strike over conditions of captivity, with more expected to be one of the biggest protests in recent years.
