TEHRAN, May. 01 (MNA) – During April 2017, Iran Mercantile Exchange played host to trading of 1,670 thousand tons of various commodities worth over 941 million USD in spot and side markets.

Accordingly, the monthly trade covered 162,578 gold coin futures contracts worth more than 688 million USD as well as 2,479 gold coins options contracts.

On the basis of a report from IME International Affairs and PR, 1,670 thousand tons of different commodities were traded in domestic and export trading floors including 1,090 KT of various commodities worth more than 495 million USD in oil and petrochemical trading floor, 441 thousand tons of different products worth approximately 363 million USD in metals and minerals trading floor, and approximately 164 thousand tons of agricultural products worth 82 million USD in agricultural trading floor in the spot market.

Moreover, this month, the export trading floor witnessed trading of 290,905 MT of bitumen worth more than 73 million USD, 1,377 MT of insulation worth more than 542 thousand USD, 2,000 MT of VB Feed stock worth approximately 389,976 USD as well as 10,000 MT of sulfur worth over 450 thousand USD.

In addition, IME experienced trading of 4,581 MT of products worth 850 thousand USD in its side market during the same month.

It is worth noting, the derivatives market played host to the trading of 162,578 gold coin futures contracts worth over 688 million USD as well as 2,479 options contracts worth more than 22,585 USD.
