TEHRAN, Apr. 27 (MNA) – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif underlined the need to collaborate on combating terrorism and extremism calling them global threats.

Iranian foreign minister made the remarks in his meeting with Speaker of Kyrgyzstan's parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov on Wednesday in Tehran.

“Kyrgyzstan is Iran’s good friend and the two countries have enjoyed good ties throughout the history,” Zarif said.

Noting terrorism as a global threat, foreign minister urged cooperation and serious fight against it.

Chynybai Tursunbekov, for his part, reaffirmed Iran’s special position in international arena noting its great ancient civilization.

“JCPOA has paved the way for expansion of ties in different fields and we hope for Iranian tradesmen to invest further in Kyrgyzstan,” he said underlinging that JCPOA has been a unique opportunity and success for Islamic Republic.

The parties also discussed possible ways to improve political and parliamentary ties as well as strengthening trade and financial ties, transportation cooperation, scientific and cultural exchange and collaboration on agriculture.

Speaker of Kyrgyzstan’s parliament Chynybai Tursunbekov heading a delegation arrived in Tehran on Sunday at the invitation of his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani.
