TEHRAN, Apr. 10 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi condemned terrorist bombings in Egyptian churches killing and injuring dozens of worshipers.

Ghasemi said the attacks on religious sites and assassination of innocent people is literally a barbaric act which is seriously condemned.

He expressed sympathy with the Egyptian government and nation, particularly the families of those killed in "the shameful and disgusting crime."

He said Iran strongly condemns any aggression against religious places and gatherings, as well as targeting civilians under any pretext or motivation.

“Such criminal acts aim to inciting sectarian strife, fear and discord among the followers of heavenly religions and foiling such plots requires the unity and vigilance of all the regional governments and nations,” the spokesman said.
