CAIRO, Apr. 09 (MNA) – A blast has hit a church in Egypt killing at least 21 while a second explosion occurred at the training center of a police station in city of Tanta

The first explosion reportedly occurred inside St. George church in the city of Tanta to the north of Egypt's capital, and claimed lives of at least 15 people, injuring 50 others. .

It happened on Palm Day, a Christian feast commemorating the entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.

The Sunday explosion in the church was followed by a blast that hit a police station in the city.

On December 11, a strong blast hit the Coptic Christian cathedral complex in Cairo, killing 25 and wounding 49 people. ISIL claimed responsibility for the attack.
