TEHRAN, Feb. 28 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in Pakistan’s capital of Islamabad to participate in 13th ECO member summit.

Rouhani’s visit to Pakistan is by an official invitation from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. In airport, Pakistani officials and Iran’s embassy officials welcomed President Rouhani. No less important was firing of cannons 21 shots to Rouhani’s honor to highlight his visit.

Rouhani will represent Iran in the summit and will reportedly support Pakistan’s candidacy for ECO presidency. He will also visit heads of participating countries in bilateral meetings.

Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) will address sustainable development in member states and gradual lifting of trade barriers along with drafting a joint plan on human development of the members.

Iran, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Republic of Azerbaijan are ECO member states.
