TEHRAN, Feb. 26 (MNA) – The Iranian Vice President for Parliamentary Affairs Hossein-Ali Amiri announced that President Rouhani will run for Iran's next Presidential Election due on May 2017.

Speaking during a press conference on Sunday, Amiri announced Rouhani’s decision in response to a question raised by a reporter asking about early campaigns of some candidates.

He criticized those who have begun presidential campaigns with helping poor community, noting that Mr. Rouhani has repeatedly denounced in weekly cabinet sessions misusing the public treasury for personal interests or against anybody in any election.

The upcoming elections will be the 12th round of Presidential Elections in Iran.

President Rouhani who won the 2013 election, will run for the second term in office if he is reelected as president.

.His government primarily focused on economic and foreign policies at the beginning of his tenure in a bid to overcome certain critical situations stemming from crual sanctions against Iran.
