Velayat 95 naval maneuver of the Iranian Navy was launched on Sunday morning at order of Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.
The military war game covers an area of two million square kilometers all the way from the Strait of Hurmuz, the Sea of Oman, North Indian Ocean and Bab-el-Mandeb to 10° latitudes.
Surface and subsea floating units of the Navy carrying naval helicopters have been based in predefined locations and depths to form a strategic defense flotilla which is implementing envisaged plans.
Simultaneously, marine and special operations brigades have been deployed to across the Mokran coast to a distance of 24 nautical miles or 44 km to perform relevant training in line with defending territorial waters.
In addition to helicopters stationed in offshore floating units, other flying units of the Navy, including reconnaissance patrol aircraft, hovercraft as well as drones are observing all movements in the region.
In the same line, protective systems of naval vessels of the Iranian Navy including advanced radars in addition to new sonar and chaff systems, which are all domestic achievements of creativity and innovation of the Army and defense industry, will be evaluated during the exercise.
Furthermore, mobile healthcare, field hospitals and logistics systems to meet the needs of soldiers have been situated in the region who are providing locals in Mokran with free healthcare services, like radiology, dentistry, patient visit, surgery as well as education and recommendations on health and environment.
