TEHRAN, Feb. 25 (MNA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said labeling the IRGC as a terrorist organization would not prove beneficiary for the US.

"The whole world acknowledged that our brothers in Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps have supported the neighboring countries against terrorism," he underlined.

Speaking on the sidelines of a ceremony to commemorate 'Foreign Ministry martyrs’ on Saturday, Zarif told reporters that US move against our brave men in IRGC merely makes clear the nature of those who make such efforts to designate it as a terrorist organization.

“I believe that in our region, cooperation and participation of all countries to counter terrorism and extremism is highly regarded and fomenting sectarian views has no advantage for any one,” he said pointing to Turkish officials’ remarks against the Islamic Republic.

Foreign minister, noting that Iran had effective cooperation with Russia and Turkey to establish a sustainable ceasefire in Syria, expressed hope Iran’s neighbors might understand the benefits of interaction more and would admit Iran is a benevolent regional player.

Pointing to JCPOA, Zarif underlined all obstacles have been removed in many fields, especially petroleum and transportation, which were among the three main areas of sanctions.

In banking area, Zarif added, the obstacles will be removed one by one and in the future, success will be achieved over time.

“The international community has resisted the harsh rhetoric against JCPOA, stressing it should be preserved,” he stressed.
