TEHRAN, Feb. 20 (MNA) – An official, while pointing to launch of naphtha unit in Bandar Abbas refinery, said gasoline production section of the complex will soon come on stream.

On latest status of gasoline production complex in Bandar Abbas refinery, Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Engineering and Construction Company (NIOEC) Hamid Sharif Razi said the country’s largest gasoline unit in 90% through while the naphtha production unit became operational in January.

The official estimated that utility and storage tank units of the project will become activated by mid-March asserting “as per timetable, the isomerization unit of the gasoline complex will come on stream half way through the upcoming Iranian calendar year (to begin March 21).”

Sharif Razi said the huge project of boosting production and improving quality of the country’s gas oil and gasoline will be fully operationalized in the coming year; “upon completion, gasoline output capacity will climb to nearly 4-4.5 million liters per day.”

He recalled that, in addition to the rise in production capacity, overall quality of gasoline in Bandar Abbas refinery will be upgraded to Euro-4 standard. The project also aims at producing eight million liters of Euro-4 gas oil.

Meanwhile, Deputy Oil Minister Abbas Kazemi had previously stated that the development project in Banadar Abbas refinery will increase the country’s daily gasoline output from 28 to 36 million liters; “with implementation of gasoline and continuous catalyst regeneration units in Bandar Abbas complex, Euro-4 gasoline will be supplied to 80 Iranian cities.”

Bandar Abbas oil refinery capacity enhancement plan comprises nine main units the most important of which include heavy naphtha treatment units with a capacity of 25 thousand barrels per day, light naphtha refining unit with a daily capacity of 21 thousand barrels, catalytic conversion unit with a capacity of 25 thousand barrels per day, gas refinery with a capacity of 50 thousand barrels per day as well as sulfur recovery unit with a daily capacity of 120 tons.
