According to announced programs, the final weeks to the end of the current Iranian year will see new, remarkable jolts in the economic relations between Tehran and Moscow.
Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei announced Sunday that Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak will make a visit to Tehran to hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Bijan Namdar Zanganeh and a number of other Iranian officials.
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitryi Olegovich Rogozin heading a delegation will visit Tehran this week to hold talks on expansion of technology and defense cooperation with Iran’s Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, and Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan.
First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov will visit Tehran for evaluating ways to develop trade and economic relations and expand cooperation between Iran and Eurasian Economic Union. The visit of Energy Minister Novak and the Eurasian Economic Commission Minister for Trade Veronika Nikishina will come within the same period.
Meanwhile, the construction of four new thermal power plant units will begin in Iran mid-February. The units capable of generating 1,400 megawatts of electricity will be built in Bandar Abbas within the framework of an agreement reached between the two countries’ presidents and with over $1 billion finance from the Russian government.
On 20-22 February, Iran-Russia’s business conference will be held at Tehran’s Milad Tower with the attendance of representatives from private sectors of both countries and participation of hundreds of representatives from economic and commercial areas.
