Rallies to mark the 38th anniversary of 1979 Islamic Revolution have begun in Tehran along with other major and small cities across the nation.
This is an annual public rallies where Iranians took part nationwide to celebrate the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and renew their allegiance with the ideals of the Revolution, its founder Imam Khomeini and Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
Governmnet officials also take part in the rallies every year to celebrate Iran's independence and its stance against imperialsim and arrogance.
An official of the Coordinating Office of February 10 Rallies Nosratollah Lotfi told reporters on Thursday that the rallies would be held in more than 5,000 spots nationwide.
Already joining the calls for rallies are Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army, especially the Air Force, which had been pioneer in the Revolution when they had hailed Imam Khomeini’s call for joining the revolutionaries; on Wednesday, they were received by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution to create scenes of loyalty to the Founder of the Revolution in that historic day.
Head of AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi is the first government official to be spotted by Mehr News correspondent amog the crowd; he told reporters briefly that Iranians has now embraced freedom coming a long way from being a vassal state of the imperialist powers. Salehi added that the nation and Establishment were the same when considering this fact and the very fact of the rallies.
General Ghasem Soleimnai also joined the rallies.
President Hassan Rouhani and his Foreign Minister Javad Zarif joined the rallies; spotted among the crowd are foreign envoys and ambassadors taking part in the rallies and the commemoration of 1979 Islamic Revolution on February 10. Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan, and some African countries participated.
Tehran firefighters, now part of the legend of their fellow firefighters' heroic coduct during Plasco building collapse, have joined rallies. They recieved wide acclaim from the crowds in Azadi Street.
Tehran's mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also attends rallies.
"Iranian nation should be addressed with respect; the nation would make anyone who uses language of threat regretful," President Rouhani told the reporters briefly.
Deputy FM Seyyed Abbas Araghchi and First Vice President Eshagh Jahangiri join the massive rallies to commemorate the 38th anniversary of Islamic Revolution.
