In response to the remarks by UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ghasemi called his claims of Iranian interference in the affairs of Arab countries 'unfounded and wrong,' saying he is better think more realistically before repeating his irrational and unfounded comments which is leading to the intensification of divergence between the countries of the region.
He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always diagnosed properly its own interests; Iranian people call the effort to create and maintain the integrity, peace, stability and security in the region, and defense against hostile attitudes and policies, their legitimate right.
FM spokesman went on to add that Islamic Republic has always stressed the principle of dialogue and respect for the sovereignty and good neighborly relations in the region; it has expressed interest in having a rational, proportionate and balanced ties with all the neighbors and hopes other countries in the region take the same steps to establish such good relations with a clear understanding of the conditions in the international environment.
"The first step to strengthen cooperation and constructive engagement is to change the discourse of accusation and unproductive claims about the undeniable reality of Iran's effective and stabilizing role in the region," Ghasemi underlined.
