Darioush Farmani Head of local Cultural Heritage office in Songhor Koliaei told Mehr News correspondent on Tuesday that the earthenware uncovered includes diverse Dalma painted in variants of monochrome, and bichrome which belonged to the 5th millennia BC in Nadali ancient hill; “the items would be a good source of Dalma culture which flourished in copper and stone ages of the same period in the western Iran,” he added.
“The hill is located in southwestern part of the city; a dam construction project on River Jamishan would destroy the hill, so we carried out excavations to delve deep into the history of the hill before such sad event; Dalma earthenware tradition of She Gabi Tepe in western Iran used at the time figures carved into the clay, simple forms, and thick red covering; the tradition had been dominant in a wide area including northwest Iran to the southern and central Zagros ranges,” Farmani concluded.
