TEHRAN, Jan. 21 (MNA) – Iranian Marine Research Fleet Network has launched talks on technological cooperation with Germany’s University of Hamburg and Max Planck research institute.

In line with developing international activities of the marine knowledge-based industries and technology headquarter of the vice presidency for science and technology, Iranian Marine Research Fleet Network has launched a meeting with a delegation from the University of Hamburg and Max Planck research institute in Germany on expansion of technological cooperation.

During this specialized panel, the sides assessed their capabilities and capacities for increasing technological cooperation in the fields of oceanography and marine science.

In another section of the panel, the German side introduced the latest advances and projects conducted with other countries such as China and Vietnam, and discussed their proposals for joint cooperation with Iran.

The proposals raised during the panel included studies on harvesting offshore wind energy, studies on oceanography and ecosystem changes in Iranian seas, as well as the effect of climate changes on Iran’s shores and seas.

At the end of the meeting, director of Iran’s marine HQ Mohammad Saeed Seif maintained that the experiences of the German delegation could be used for better exploitation of infrastructures and Iranian knowledge-based organizations.
