TEHRAN, Jan. 09 (MNA) – A number of Iranian ministers and officials have expressed condolences for ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani’s demise in separate messages.

In his condolatory message, Defense Minister of Iran Hossein Dehghan sympathized with the Iranian nation and family of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, Head of Iran’s Expediency Council.

Dehghan described late Rafsamjani as a tireless fighter, brave combatant, great scholar as well as a great commander in the Islamic Revolution and the Imposed War who also contributed to construction and dignity of Iran.

While pointing to the seminal role of Hashemi Rafsanjani in formation of the Islamic Revolution, during the struggle against Pahlavi regime, establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as various events after the Revolution, Brig. Gen. Dehghan said noble people of Iran would undoubtedly remember the honest, faithful and sincere friend of Imam Khomeini as well as the Leader for his name to shine on the apex of epic history of the country.

In a related story, Economy Minister Ali Tayebnia expressed his heartfelt condolences over Rafsanjani’s demise to the Iranian nation and the Leader.

Tayebnia referred to the unmatched services offered by Rafsanjani during his glorious career underscoring that the Islamic Republic of Iran now suffers from the loss of one of the greatest figures.

The official also highlighted to the starring role played by the deceased politician all through the history of Islamic Revolution in various positions like presidency, in Assembly of Experts as well as in the Expediency Council.

Hamid Chitchian, Iran’s Energy Minister, also voiced his sorrow over the passing away of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani whom he described as an indefatigable companion of Imam Khomeni and the Leader.

Chitchian enumerated the noticeable steps taken by Rafsanjani including his leading and undeniable role in victory of Islamic Revolution, his clever and unique commandment during the Imposed War in addition to tireless efforts in building and development of the country in the post-war years as well as his realistic and clever guidance in founding the country’s major infrastructures.

Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammadreza Nematzadeh also issued a condolatory message in which he pointed to the prominent figure of Ayatollah Rafsanjani who devoted his whole life to development of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Other officials who extended their condolences over the demise of Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani include Tehran’s Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and social welfare Ali Rabiei as well as Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani.
