Managing Director of National Iranian Gas Transmission Company (NIGTC) Saeid Tavakoli described details of modification in the country’s gas pipeline network following the stoppage in imports of Turkmen gas saying “currently, pressure changes in gas networks in the north of Iran, particularly in Mazandaran Province, is proportionate to consumption and inlet pressure levels of cities and is deemed as satisfactory as compared with the previous year.”
“Ramsar turbo compressors came on stream in the present year and a considerable amount of pressure drop was experienced in gas installations due to pipeline conditions and the rotational speed of turbo compressors.
The official pointed to a series of technical changes in Ramsar gas pressure boosting units and said to prevent gas pressure drop in the facility, two projects to improve the efficiency of gas transmission operations were carried out in a period of three days.
He emphasized that implementation of the emergency plan, raised efficiency of Ramsar gas compressor facilities from 16.1 to 42.1 soared; additionally, the gas transmission capacity in the north of the country has gone up by approximately two million cubic meters per day.”
“Gas pressure and input pressures in the northern unit, which had dropped from 4 to 0.4 bar, went up again as a result of the operation,” NIGTC managing director concluded.
