TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – Iran’s national diving team has managed to win its first ever medal in the Asian Swimming Championships.

Competing at Men's Synchronized 10m Platform in the diving section of the Asian event, the Iranian squad managed to scoop the bronze medal.

Led by Ghaem Mirabian, the National Iranian diving team comprised Shahram Nazarpour and Morteza Alipour who offered excellent sportive performances to land in the third place at the tournament.

Competing against rivals from Japan, China, India and Iraq Tokyo Tatsumi International Swimming Center on Saturday morning, the Persians collected a total of 315.24 points in six rounds of Men's Synchronized 10m Platform to secure the bronze medal.

In the same category, Chinese divers, Zewei Xu and Hao Yang, won the title with an aggregate total of 413.31 points while the silver medal was bagged by Shunta Kaneko and Shu Ohkubo from the host country who earned 362.61 points.

The 10th edition of Asian Swimming Championships (Diving) kicked off on November 17 and will run through November 20 in Tokyo, Japan.
