TEHRAN, Nov. 19 (MNA) – Iranian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers have won titles at the International Schoolboy Free Style and Greco-Roman Tournament dubbed as ‘Day of Children’.

Attended by 13 Greco-Roman and 10 freestyle teams, the 19th edition of Day of Children took place in the Iranian capital of Tehran on November 17-18.

At the end of the day, young Iranian wrestlers managed to stand on top of the podium in both divisions.

Accordingly, Iran-B squad finished 1st in the Greco-Roman event while Armenia and Iran-A landed second and third.

The fourth to tenth positions were taken by Tajikistan, Moldavia, Georgia, Ukraine, Iran-C, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan respectively.

In the freestyle wrestling category, Iran-A outfit clinched the gold medal followed by Azerbaijan Republic and Ukraine who landed second and third.

Moreover, Iran-C, Iran-B, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Armenia and Russia ranked 4th to 10th at the international sportive event.

Organized under the United World Wrestling (UWW) regulations on 3 UWW approved mats, the International Schoolboy Free style & Greco-Roman Tournament ‘Day of Children’ was held on November 17-18, 2016 in Tehran by the Iranian Wrestling Federation.
