TEHRAN, Nov. 16 (MNA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif expressed his deep regret on Tuesday over the spread of violence and extremism in the region underlining the rise in international cooperation against terrorism.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with visiting Zimbabwean Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Joey Bimha in Tehran on Tuesday.

While describing the spread of terrorism, violence and extremism in the region as tragic, he considered necessary to control the situation through international cooperation.

Zarif also expressed Iran's readiness to share experience and local knowledge in the field of energy and new technologies to Zimbabwe.

He expressed the hope that Iran and Zimbabwe will make use of the existing capabilities to broaden cooperation for a better future in bilateral ties.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views to further develop bilateral relations in several political and economic fields, particularly in agriculture.

Joey Bimha, for his part, said Zimbabwe highly regards the expansion of cooperation with Iran and taking advantage of Iran's experiences and capabilities in various fields.
