The 18th Asian Youth, 23rd Asian Junior women's and 30th Asian Junior Men's Weightlifting Championships is being competed from 8-16 November 2016 if the Japanese capital of Tokyo.
In the 85-kilogram weight group of the Youth event, Mohammad Moayyedi of Iran claimed the title after lifting 128kg in snatch and 160kg in clean and jerk to secure a total of 288 kilograms.
South Korean and Taiwanese athletes landed second and third with a total of 283kg and 270kg respectively.
Also in the 85kg group of Junior events, two Iranian lifters landed second and third to bring home two more medals.
Accordingly, Ramin Valipour of Iran overcame 151kg in snatch and 187kg in clean and jerk to win a silver medal with a total of 388 kilograms.
The silver went to Iran’s Aref Khaki who snatched 142kg and got 186 kilos up over his head in clean and jerk to collect 186 total kilograms.
The gold medal, however, was scooped by the Qatari contestant with 152kg snatch and 200kg clean and jerk yielding an aggregate total of 352 kilos.
Previously, Eshagh Zaab from Iran claimed a bronze medal at the Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship on Sunday.
The Iranian lifter finished in third place after lifting 125kg in snatch and 148kg in clean and jerk for a total of 273kg.
A weightlifter from Kazakhstan won the gold medal with 283kg and silver medal went to a Vietnamese athlete who lifted an aggregate of 281kg.
Six more Iranian weightlifters will take part in the contest on Monday which marks the final day of the tournament.
The competition is being held at the Otaku City Gymnasium in Tokyo, Japan from November 8 to 16.
