TEHRAN, Nov. 13 (MNA) – Iran deployed 11.742 million tons of various types of petrochemicals in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (began March 20).

The country possesses the capacity to produce more than 63 million tons of various kinds of petrochemical products per year though the figure is expected to rise to 130 million tons by the year 2025.

In recent year, removal of international sanctions gave way to increased exports as well as an uplift in production of various petrochemical products.

According to the report of National Petrochemical Company (NPC), Iran's overall petrochemical production stood at about 28.753 million tons in the first seven months (March 20-October 21) of the present year.

Of the total production of the industry in the mentioned timespan, 20 petrochemical complexes in Mahshahr enjoyed a share of more than 10.228 million tons while the figure of 14 Asalouyeh complexes was 12.866 million tons followed by the share of 19 petrochemical complexes in other parts of the country which stood at 5.658 million tons.

The volume of petrochemical production in the previous Iranian calendar month (September 22-October 21) reached over 3.8 million tons of which 1.124 tons were consumed domestically and 1.557 tons were shipped to global markets.
