Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, met with Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Parliament of Lebanon, at the second residence of the Speaker in Ain El-Tineh of Beirut on Tuesday.
Events in Lebanon, regional issues and developments especially in regard to Syria, and the ways to expand bilateral relations between Iran and Lebanon in areas of politics, economy, culture, and parliament were discussed by Iranian top diplomat and Lebanese top MP with special attention to the new age of Lebanon under General Michel Aoun’s presidency.
Iranian Ambassador to Beirut, Mohammad Fathali, was also present in the meeting.
Zarif who arrived in Beirut late on Monday, has met with senior Lebanese officials like President Michel Aoun, Prime Minister Saad Hariri, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, the head of Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement, and Lebanese Foreign Minister, Gebran Bassil, on his Tuesday schedule in Beirut before leaving the Arab country for Eastern Europe.
