“Surely the initiative and tact of the Lebanese Parliament and MPs had a direct contribution to solving the President Election problem of the country,” said Ali Larijani, the Speaker of Iran's Parliament, to Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, on Wednesday in a phone conversation on the occasion of Lebanese Parliament voting in Michel Aoun as the new president of the Lebanon after two years of stalemate in the choosing process.
Iran’s Larijani hailed the decision as a message of unity among resistant forces and reassured that the ‘historical choice’ would have many positive impacts on the region.
“Iran’s government and parliament back Lebanese nation and resistant axis, as they did in the past, in their war against the Zionist regime and Takfirist terrorism,” asserted the top Iranian MP.
Nabih Berri, on the other side of the line offered his deep gratitude the Iranian Leader, government, MPs and the speaker of the parliament, saying that Iran’s support for the Lebanese nation, parliament, and government is unique and appreciable.
“The election of the new Lebanese President proved that, either in the past or at present, only solidarity and unity between the internal talks of the Islamic nation and Lebanese people will help them to stand against the voracities of the Zionist regime,” confirmed the Lebanese senior MP.
