TEHRAN, Nov. 01 (MNA) – President of the House of Representatives of Cyprus Demetris Syllouris and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif met on Monday afternoon.

During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister said that Cyprus holds an old friendship with Iran dating back to decades ago. He also welcomed the growing relations and cooperation between the two countries.

While recalling bilateral relations and cooperation in the cultural, commercial, political and scientific fields, Zarif expressed hope that the cooperation has expanded into other fields such as tourism exchange, innovative and advanced science and technology and biotechnology.

Cypriot side Demetris Syllouris also welcomed the expansion of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, saying Cyprus is prepared for further consultation and cooperation to promote bilateral relations and cooperation on the international level.

During the meeting, they also discussed and exchanged views on the regional issues, including Syrian crisis.
