TEHRAN, Oct. 23 (MNA) – The 47th meeting of the Working Group on Determining the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea started work on Sunday in Tehran.

Attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, the event hosts special representatives and deputy foreign ministers of five littoral states, Iran, Azerbaijan, Russia, the Republic of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.

The participants are scheduled to discuss the most important issues contained in the draft Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea and the provisions of preliminary consultations on the 5th meeting of presidents in Kazakhstan.

The last meeting of Caspian Sea Working Group was held on July 11-12 in Astana, before the meeting of foreign ministers of the five littoral states on July 13 in Kazakhstan.
