TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) – Iran's documentary 'Starless Dreams', directed by Mehrdad Oskouei, won Special Jury Prize at Antenna Documentary Film Festival in Australia.

Starless Dreams received the honor competing with famous movies across the world participating in this year's festival, including Chinese documentary film Behemoth directed by Zhao Liang which won the award for Best International Feature Film.

The festival also displayed late Iranian prominent director Abbas Kiarostami's film Close-Up on October 15 at 11 pm local time.

Oskouei’s Starless Dreams narrates the lives of a group of under 18-year-old girls taken into care for a variety of reasons ranging from drug dealing and trafficking, to pick-pocketing and manslaughter. Though bored with their incarcerated life, they are, nevertheless, scared about what might happen to them once outside. As the New Year approaches, they all hope to. celebrate it with their families.

Starless Dreams has also been nominated along with four other films from Asia-Pacific for Best Documentary Award at the Asia Pacific Screen Academy.
