Failed to deliver a goal, the Iranian and Japanese outfits left the pitch with a scoreless draw at the Bahrain National Stadium on Monday evening.
Despite numerus attacks launched on Japan’s goal, the Persians failed to find the net and have so far managed to earn only two points in the 39th edition of AFC U-19 Championship.
The Japanese squad, however, pulled out a victory over Yemen in their opener and are now in the top position of Group C with a total of four points.
Iran, whose opening match against Qatari rivals had also ended in a ties with each team sharing a goal, is scheduled to take on Yemen in their last group stage showdown.
The 2016 AFC U-19 Championship is the 39th edition of the AFC U-19 Championship, the biennial international youth football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-19 national teams of Asia.
The tournament is hosted by Bahrain, as announced by the AFC on 3 June 2015, and is scheduled to be played between 13–30 October 2016.
