Jasem Jadari made the remarks in a meeting with Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Iran, Ong Keng Yong, on Tuesday, adding “Singapore has a good record in ship construction and the shipbuilding industry in Hormozgan province is faring much better now that the sanctions have been lifted.”
“Singapore also has good potentials in tourism industry and we are interested to use each other’s experiences in this field,” he added.
Jadari went on to note, “Shahid Rajaei is a container port with a 40-million-ton rail transport capacity. Bandar Abbas Airport is also developing and offers a suitable opportunity for foreign investment.”
The Singaporean ambassador, for his part, maintained that he would bring a trade delegation to Hormozgan in the near future, adding that he would make efforts to encourage investors from his country to visit Hormozgan and participate in the province's various investment projects.
Hormozgan, situated in the south of the country, hosts one special economic zone (Shahid Rajaei) and two free trade zones (Kish and Qeshm). Shahid Rajaei Port with an emphasis on global trading is one of the most important economic hubs in the Middle East. Shahid Rajaei Port by utilizing new technology has international goods exchange with major ports around the world and connects to more than 80 ports worldwide.
