TEHRAN, Oct. 04 (MNA) – Iranian VP Ali Akbar Salehi issued a formal message on Tuesday dismissing the claims that he intends to run in the next presidential election of Iran to be held in May 2017.

The Iranian Vice-President Ali Akbar Salehi, who heads the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), released a formal announcement on Tuesday to deny any intention for running for the next presidential election of Iran to be held in May 2017.

Salehi described it against political ethics and his personal morality to compete with President Rouhani while he is still serving under Mr. President. He articulated that he feels obliged to act within his purview.

“I have never found myself equipped with the arts and virtues required for this position [president of the Islamic Republic of Iran],” asserted the Iranian official, “and if I had such an adventure in my mind, I would have acted earlier when the time was ripe for me.”

Salehi concludes his message with wish for having the ability to serve his country under the presidency of Mr. Rouhani and Leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei.
