“The Islamic Republic of Iran urges its two friendly neighboring states of India and Pakistan to act prudently, avoid implementing escalating measures, and resolve the problem via dialogue,” said Bahram Ghasemi, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman on Friday. His comments came after the latest disputes in Kashmir.
Ghasemi voiced hope that both India and Pakistan follow peaceful lasting solutions that are based on logic and wisdom. He condemned any temporary sentimentalism or militancy.
“Escalating tensions and continuing crisis between the two countries prepares the ground for extremist and terrorist groups along with their state-supporters to spread insecurity and destabilize the region,” asserted the Iranian diplomat, “countries like Pakistan and India which are rich with history, culture and civilization can act more friendly as in the past to find the proper frame for interaction, mutual understanding, and dialogue.”
The spokesman stressed that the disagreements are solvable with diplomacy and reciprocal visits at decent levels. He articulated that the joint efforts of India and Pakistan can foil all the plots of malevolent regional and international war-mongers.
