TEHRAN, Sep. 29 (MNA) – Yusef Sabri and Mohammad Mahdi Garshasbi defeated their opening opponents on the first day of the 6th World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) underway in Bulgaria.

In the opening day of the 6th edition of The World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) underway in Burgas city of Bulgaria Iranian junior Wushu practitioners Yusef Sabri and Mohammad Mahdi Garshasbi defeated their rivals at the round of 16 of the tournament to get to the quarterfinals of the event.

In the 70 kilogram weight category of Boy’s Sanda, Yusef Sabri defeated Magomed Iliasov of Russia in the round of 16 to fight against Yani Petrov Yanev of Bulgaria in the quarterfinals.

In the 75 kilogram weight category of Boy’s Sanda, another Iranian athlete Mohammad Mahdi Garshasbi defeated George Mihai Marin of Romania to get to the next round where he has to fight with Sultan Gapizov of Russia.

Featuring both Taolu (3 age divisions) and Sanda events for both male and female competitors, the 6th WJWC, the official world championship for junior athletes, will be concluded on October 03.
